Autumn Bull Sale 2019

22/33 Bulls sold to a top of $6,500 (twice) & an average of $4,511.

Despite a tight season with many farmers having destocked to an all-time low, clients of Merlewood Angus turned out in force to support Merlewood Angus at their third bull sale – even those who were not purchasing.

Lot 10 Merlewood Braveheart N152 sold to loyal foundation client Nicole White for $6.5k with Lot 27 Merlewood Outlier N60 selling to Jamie Quinn.

Both were extremely pleased with their purchases and commented that it was a “buyers” market due to lack of demand due to the current status of the farming landscape.

We are pleased to see both of this outstanding bulls go to such good homes and we know that their exceptional pedigree will bring dividends to their respective beef herds; at a time when every extra cent earned with superior genetics is most welcome.

Elders Ross Mile commended Daniel and Anne Marie Barrow for the high quality bull presentation along with their exceptional temperament. Whilst Elders Denis Linley praised the young stud for having their bulls “in the right way, with the right genetics”.

We would like to thank all our bidders, underbidders and all our clients who supported us by attending our third annual autumn bull sale. We thank you for making our third bull sale terrific in a tough farming climate.

We truly do appreciate all your support and confidence in the Merlewood Angus Breeding program as we continue to grow with you and deliver well-balanced, black angus beef bulls to the Gipplsand.
